Development data disclosure via unchecked MCP request origin
Published Oct 2, 2026 · Updated Oct 2, 2026
Information disclosure in Vercel Next.js 16.0.0 through 16.3.7 allows remote attackers to read development data through the next dev MCP endpoint. The endpoint fails to verify the requesting website's origin and exposes project paths, route inventory, development logs, and source snippets from error reports. Exploitation requires a developer to visit a malicious website while next dev is running; production deployments do not serve the endpoint.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
