Remote code execution via txtar and vet flaws
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Path traversal and sandbox escape in Go Playground before 0.0.0-20260924211604-6d73cff14c17 allow remote attackers to execute host code. The /compile endpoint accepts a user-controlled txtar whose paths can escape the execution root and write trusted host files, while one go vet path reads Go environment configuration from host $HOME. An independent deployment must expose /compile and permit both flaws to be chained; go.dev/play users are not affected.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
