CVE-2026-94418Network attack vectorHinoki check available

Certificate authentication bypass via masked signature failure

Published Sep 27, 2026 · Updated Sep 27, 2026

Certificate verification bypass in wolfSSL 3.15.5 through 5.9.2 allows remote attackers to authenticate with a forged certificate. In ProcessPeerCertParse(), a certificate parse error replaces the separately computed ASN_SIG_CONFIRM_E result, masking an invalid signature when date errors are overridden. Affected builds must define WOLFSSL_SMALL_CERT_VERIFY and use peer verification with a callback that accepts certificate date errors; otherwise the handshake fails.
