Heap corruption via aliased string ownership
Published Oct 14, 2026 · Updated Oct 14, 2026
Heap corruption in Qul::String in Qt for MCUs 2.12.1 through 2.12.2 allows remote attackers to corrupt application memory via text input. Conversion from std::string to the internal string type copies a pointer without transferring ownership, leaving two objects to release the same allocation. Exposure requires an application to pass attacker-controlled text through this interface; documented consequences include double free, invalid free, use-after-free, and application crashes.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
