Unauthenticated AAS data manipulation via unguarded REST API
Published Oct 6, 2026 · Updated Oct 6, 2026
Missing authentication in Murrelektronik AAS Edge Client allows remote attackers to read and alter AAS submodel data through its REST API. The API listens on all interfaces at TCP port 18000, omits authentication for GET and PATCH endpoints, and accepts requests from any origin. Network reachability suffices; altered data is stored locally and forwarded to the configured central AAS server, while a malicious web page can also reach the API from a user's network.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
