Stored XSS via unescaped galaxy name
Published Sep 21, 2026 · Updated Sep 21, 2026
Stored XSS in MISP before 2.5.47 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in a victim's browser via a crafted galaxy name. The statistics_galaxymatrix.ctp view passes the stored galaxy name directly to sprintf() for HTML output without applying CakePHP's h() encoder. Exploitation requires perm_galaxy_editor access and a victim who opens the galaxy matrix statistics page, exposing the victim's session and authorized MISP actions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
