Cross-issuer access via unchecked introspection issuer
Published Oct 1, 2026 · Updated Oct 1, 2026
Authentication bypass in Apache APISIX 3.12.0 through 3.18.0 allows remote authenticated users to access routes restricted to another issuer. The openid-connect plugin's remote-introspection path accepts an active token without comparing the response's iss value with claim_validator.issuer.valid_issuers. Exploitation requires a route with that issuer allowlist and an authorization server serving multiple issuers; access is limited to routes guarded by the misapplied restriction.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
