Unauthenticated upstream access via encoded-path route mismatch
Published Oct 1, 2026 · Updated Oct 1, 2026
Authorization bypass in Apache APISIX 2.14.1 through 3.18.0 allows remote attackers to access protected upstream endpoints via encoded paths. HTTP route matching uses a processed request path, while upstream forwarding can preserve a different path representation, causing a permissive route's policies to govern a protected endpoint. Exploitation requires overlapping permissive and protected routes; the established consequence is access to the upstream endpoint without its intended route authorization.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
