SQL injection via unvalidated orderBy column name
Published Sep 21, 2026 · Updated Sep 21, 2026
SQL injection in Drogon 1.9.0 through 1.9.13 allows remote attackers to read database data through an HTTP sort parameter. The Mapper::orderBy method interpolates the caller-supplied column name directly into an ORDER BY clause without identifier validation. Exploitation requires generated REST controllers with REST scaffolding enabled and attacker control of sort; the public PoC demonstrates unauthenticated boolean-blind extraction.
