Local privilege escalation via driver IOCTL write
Published Sep 21, 2026 · Updated Sep 21, 2026
Write-what-where in VIVID LED DJ 4.0.2411.1500 allows local users to corrupt kernel memory through the BS_LED64.sys IOCTL handler. The sub_1105C routine trusts attacker-controlled AssociatedIrp data when selecting both the value and destination for a kernel-memory write. A low-privileged local account can use the exposed driver interface without user interaction, enabling privilege escalation or a system crash.
