Class-cache poisoning via mismatched declared class names
Published Oct 6, 2026 · Updated Oct 6, 2026
Cache poisoning in Apache Commons BCEL before 6.13.0 allows attackers to substitute class lookup results via a mismatched class file. AbstractClassPathRepository and ClassLoaderRepository cached a parsed class under its attacker-controlled declared name without checking it against the requested name. An application must load attacker-controlled class bytes through a BCEL repository; later lookups and name-keyed verification results can then refer to the wrong class.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
