Browser-session takeover via permissive extension origin check
Published Sep 20, 2026 · Updated Sep 20, 2026
Authentication bypass in Tencent BrowserSkill 0.3.0 and earlier allows local users to control logged-in browser sessions via a malicious extension. The daemon's origin_allowed function accepts every chrome-extension origin with a 32-character lowercase a-p identifier instead of matching a trusted extension ID. A locally installed malicious extension can therefore read or alter page content, screenshots, forms, and authenticated browser activity without further user interaction.
