File disclosure and SSRF via XML entity loading
Published Sep 20, 2026 · Updated Sep 20, 2026
XML external entity injection in James Heinrich getID3() 1.9.26 and earlier allows remote attackers to read local files via crafted media metadata. The XML2array helper suppresses failures from libxml_disable_entity_loader() before simplexml_load_string() parses attacker-controlled XML, leaving external entity resolution active. Exposure requires PHP before 8.0 and an application path that analyzes untrusted media; successful requests can also reach internal services or exhaust resources.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
