Password recovery disablement via invalid reset code
Published Sep 20, 2026 · Updated Sep 20, 2026
Destructive configuration write in NivoCart 2.4.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to disable administrator password recovery. The unauthenticated common/reset controller treats a missing or invalid code as a lookup failure, then writes 0 to the persistent config_password setting instead of only rejecting the request. Any network client that reaches the admin reset route can disable self-service recovery until the setting is restored administratively.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
