Authenticated command execution via traceroute URL injection
Published Sep 20, 2026 · Updated Sep 20, 2026
OS command injection in Netcore NBR200V2 1.3.241127.071246 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary system commands. The tools_traceroute() path inserts the attacker-controlled url value into a shell command with snprintf() and passes the result to system() without neutralizing shell metacharacters. A reachable ubus JSON-RPC endpoint and a low-privilege session are required; successful injection executes commands with the appliance's root privileges.
