Authenticated service interruption via unbounded file buffering
Published Sep 20, 2026 · Updated Sep 20, 2026
Denial of service in OpenClaw 2026.9.0 through 2026.9.5 allows remote authenticated users to interrupt the Gateway service. The Canvas document handler calls handle.readFile() without a size limit and retains the whole file buffer while res.end() serves it. Access to the Canvas Host route and a large hosted file lets multiple slow GET connections consume memory and event-loop capacity, making shared endpoints unavailable.
