Administrator account takeover via unchecked target role
Published Sep 20, 2026 · Updated Sep 20, 2026
Privilege escalation in CodeAstro QR Code Attendance Management System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to take over a Super Administrator account. The save() action in app/Controllers/UserController.php checks only the submitted role_id, then updates the target user row without checking its current role. An existing Administrator session and CSRF token are required; success resets the Super Administrator password and transfers control of that account.
