Authenticated file read via attacker-chosen project root
Published Sep 20, 2026 · Updated Sep 20, 2026
Path traversal in ACE-MCP 4.10.0 through 4.10.8 allows remote authenticated users to read server-accessible UTF-8 files. The get_file_snippet path check verifies filePath only against the client-supplied projectRootPath, then readFile opens the resolved path. Access to the MCP interface is required, and disclosure is limited to files readable by the server process.
