Arbitrary file write via unchecked path join
Published Sep 20, 2026 · Updated Sep 20, 2026
Path traversal in 03-lovepreetSingh MCP commit f95d035c5317fad81af9828286631053ccb23546 allows remote attackers to write server files. The create_file tool joins attacker-controlled filePath data to the uploads directory and passes the result to fs.writeFile without checking the resolved boundary. Access to the MCP interface is sufficient to create or overwrite any file writable by the server process, enabling configuration or source corruption and service interruption.
