Unauthenticated administrator takeover via unguarded passwd_set method
Published Sep 20, 2026 · Updated Sep 20, 2026
Improper authorization in D-Link DIR-X1860 and DIR-X1860Z 1.0.2.220120.165402 allows remote attackers to change the administrator password. The routerd.passwd_set method accepts an unauthenticated ubus session token and performs the privileged password write without an authorization check. Local-network access to TCP port 23355 is required; changing the password permits normal login and an authenticated administrative ubus session.
