Administrator session hijacking via unencoded password fields
Published Sep 20, 2026 · Updated Sep 20, 2026
Reflected XSS in SourceCodester Drug Recommendation System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute script via crafted password fields. The change_password handler reflects txtoldpassword and txtnewpassword POST values into HTML value attributes without output encoding, enabling attribute breakout and script injection. Exploitation requires an authenticated administrator to submit a crafted request and interact with the response; injected script can read the non-HttpOnly PHPSESSID and perform actions in that session.
