Administrator session theft via unencoded symptom name
Published Sep 20, 2026 · Updated Sep 20, 2026
Cross-site scripting in SourceCodester Drug Recommendation System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to run script in an administrator's browser. The add_symptom handler reflects the POST txtname value into an HTML value attribute without output encoding and also stores it for later rendering. Administrator privileges and victim interaction are required; injected JavaScript can read the non-HttpOnly PHPSESSID cookie and enable session hijacking.
