Authenticated memory corruption via oversized PPP username
Published May 24, 2026 · Updated May 24, 2026
Buffer overflow in Edimax BR-6675nD 1.12 allows remote authenticated users to corrupt memory through a crafted WAN setup request. The formWanTcpipSetup POST handler copies the pppUserName field into a fixed-size buffer without checking its length. Access to the router web management interface and low-privilege authentication are required; successful exploitation compromises router confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
