Unauthenticated management crash via unchecked URI copy
Published Sep 20, 2026 · Updated Sep 20, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in COMFAST CF-N1-S 2.6.0.1 allows remote attackers to crash its web management process via a crafted URI. The get_css_path_from_uri function copies the path segment before the query delimiter byte by byte into a fixed-size stack buffer without checking its capacity. The unauthenticated /cgi-bin/mbox-config endpoint accepts the request; the demonstrated result is a management-interface crash, while return-address corruption permits control-flow hijacking under specific conditions.
