Application crash via unbounded SCP protocol line
Published Sep 30, 2026 · Updated Sep 30, 2026
SCP denial of service in Apache MINA SSHD before 2.20.0 and 3.0.0-M1 through 3.0.0-M5 lets remote authenticated users crash a receiver. The sshd-scp protocol-line reader retains peer-supplied command bytes until an LF arrives without limiting line length, so an unterminated line exhausts heap memory. Exploitation requires an application to receive SCP protocol input from a malicious peer; the resulting OutOfMemoryError can terminate the application.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=0 <2.20.0
