Command execution via unescaped Daily Note picker
Published Sep 18, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Stored XSS in the Daily Note picker in SiYuan 3.8.4 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute operating system commands. The picker concatenates an unescaped notebook name into option markup assigned to Dialog.innerHTML, so an injected event handler runs with Electron Node.js access. Exploitation requires at least two open notebooks and a user to open Daily Note after a crafted notebook arrives through import, sync, or the API.
