Restricted metadata disclosure via unchecked icon templates
Published Sep 18, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Missing authorization in SiYuan 3.8.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read restricted document metadata via icon templates. The getDynamicIcon handler passes attacker-controlled type-8 content and a block ID to RenderDynamicIconContentTemplate, which loads the block and exposes template fields without the publish metadata authorization check. Publish mode and a known block ID are required; a RoleReader token, including the anonymous token used when publish authentication is disabled, can reveal titles, names, aliases, paths, and statistics but not document bodies.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
