Stored cross-site scripting via encoded custom fields
Published Sep 25, 2026 · Updated Sep 25, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in AyeCode Ltd GeoDirectory 2.8.181 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to run scripts in visitors' browsers. The geodir_save_post AJAX endpoint accepts entity-encoded angle brackets in text-type custom fields, bypassing a strpos()-gated tag-stripping check before unsafe output. Subscriber-level access is sufficient to store the payload, which executes when another user opens the injected page.
