Authenticated code execution via unrestricted PHP deserialization
Published Sep 18, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
PHP object injection in Cotonti 1.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute code or write files through the comments plugin. EditAction::prepareComeBack() base64-decodes the cb parameter and passes it to unserialize() without disabling class instantiation. Exploitation requires comment write permission and a usable PHP gadget chain; arbitrary object instantiation can write files or execute code.
