Phishing redirects via unvalidated page destinations
Published Sep 18, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Open redirect in Cotonti 1.0.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to send visitors to arbitrary external sites. The page display path in modules/page/inc/page.main.php strips the redir: prefix and places any HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, or FTPS destination directly in a 303 Location header without cot_url_check(). Page creation or edit permission is required, while administrative access is not; a visitor must open the crafted trusted-site page before redirection to a phishing site occurs.
