Rating forgery via missing AJAX CSRF validation
Published Sep 18, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in the Cotonti ratings plugin through 1.0.0 allows remote attackers to modify stored ratings via crafted POST requests. ratings.ajax.php reads a rate value from POST and writes the rating when inr=send without calling cot_check_xg() to validate the anti-CSRF token. Exploitation requires a logged-in user with rating permission to visit an attacker-controlled page, and the consequence is limited to submitting or overwriting ratings as that user.
