Cross-tenant lease tampering via mismatched identifier lookup

Published Sep 18, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026

Authorization bypass in OpenStack Blazar allows remote authenticated users to modify or delete other tenants' V2 leases. The authorize() wrapper requests the target under lease_id although controllers supply id positionally, so a failed lookup substitutes the caller's project and user identifiers. Exploitation requires an authenticated user, a known lease ID, and the V2 lease API to be enabled; successful requests can corrupt or remove cross-project reservations.
