Arbitrary command execution via traceroute command parameter
Published May 24, 2026 · Updated May 24, 2026
OS command injection in TOTOLINK A8000RU 7.1cu.643_b20200521 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands via its web interface. setTracerouteCfg copies the untrusted command parameter into a formatted command that CsteSystem ultimately passes to execv without neutralization. The official assessment requires no privileges or user interaction, although the published request includes a session cookie; successful exploitation grants device command execution.
