Service interruption via XGMAC2 RBUE interrupt storm
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
Denial of service in the Linux XGMAC2 stmmac driver allows remote attackers to trigger a MAC interrupt storm under heavy RX pressure. The default DMA receive masks enable RBUE, so exhausted RX descriptors cause repeated interrupts even though its handler requests the same NAPI work as RIE. An affected XGMAC2 interface and enough inbound traffic to exhaust its receive ring are required; the storm can stall receive processing without advancing recovery.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
