Invalid wait context via locked IRQ teardown
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
Improper locking in Linux before 6.12.111 or 6.18.53 allows attackers to enter an invalid wait context during Au1000 shutdown. au1000_close() invokes the sleepable free_irq() path while holding aup->lock with spin_lock_irqsave(), causing IRQ mutex acquisition in atomic context. Triggering requires the Au1000 Ethernet driver and the ability to stop its interface; published validation reports lockdep warnings, not a demonstrated crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
