Kernel memory leak via ksmbd ACL decoding
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
Memory leaks in Linux ksmbd 6.12.110 and earlier and 6.18.52 and earlier allow attackers to leak kernel memory via unspecified vectors. ksmbd_vfs_get_sd_xattr skips freeing acl.sd_buf when NT ACL decoding fails and returns success with a stale output pointer when the decoded descriptor is undersized. The path requires ksmbd to retrieve a stored NT ACL; published material does not establish attacker privileges or a resulting crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
