Kernel crash via late RCU callback execution
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
Use-after-free in the Linux AMDGPU module before 6.12.111 or 6.18.53 allows attackers to crash the kernel during module unload. The amdgpu_exit function frees module text without first waiting for outstanding call_rcu callbacks, so a callback can later execute from freed memory. Triggering the fault requires a loaded AMDGPU module, a pending callback, and module unloading; the observed consequence is a kernel page fault and system service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
