Out-of-bounds read via short association response
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
Out-of-bounds reads in Linux before 6.12.111 and before 6.18.53 allow attackers to read beyond a short Wi-Fi association response. cfg80211_rx_assoc_resp() sets status and response-IE pointers and lengths from a management frame before checking the regular or S1G minimum length. Triggering requires a short response to reach the cfg80211 association-completion path; the public fix does not document a crash or data disclosure.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
