Out-of-bounds read via unchecked firmware station ID
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
An out-of-bounds read in Linux 6.12 before 6.12.111 or 6.18 before 6.18.53 allows attackers to trigger an invalid read via Wi-Fi firmware. The iwl_mvm_window_status_notif function extracts a five-bit sta_id and indexes fw_id_to_mac_id without checking the firmware station limit. Reachability requires the iwlwifi MVM driver to process an out-of-range BA window status notification; no external path for supplying that notification is published.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
