CVE-2026-93784Public exploitHinoki check available

Local denial of service via malformed Wi-Fi IEs

Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in Linux before 6.12.111 or 6.18.53 allows local users to crash the kernel through malformed Wi-Fi IEs. The cfg80211_wext_siwgenie() path stores SIOCSIWGENIE input without validating element lengths; later SIOCSIWESSID processing reads beyond the buffer and can underflow a memcpy length. Triggering the fault requires local CAP_NET_ADMIN access and a Wi-Fi interface, and the demonstrated consequence is a kernel panic.
