Userspace memory corruption via stale response iovecs
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
Memory corruption in Linux vhost-scsi 6.12 before 6.12.111 and 6.18 before 6.18.53 allows local users to overwrite userspace objects. The vhost_scsi_ioctl path lets VHOST_SET_MEM_TABLE return without flushing asynchronous target-core commands, leaving response iovecs translated through the replaced memory table. Reachability requires vhost-scsi and a memory-table replacement while a command is in flight; completion then writes a response through the stale mapping.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
