Record deletion and hangs via unsafe reflection
Published Sep 18, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Unsafe reflection in MongoDB Mongoid 8.0.0 through 9.1.0 allows remote attackers to delete stored records via crafted update keys. The atomic pop persistence path treats an externally supplied field key as a method name and dispatches an unintended internal method instead of updating an array field. Exploitation requires an embedding application to pass unauthenticated input keys into that operation; successful calls can remove records or leave the application process unresponsive.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=8.0.0 <=8.0.12
- Affected versionversion=8.1.0 <=8.1.12
- Affected versionversion=9.0.0 <=9.0.11
