CVE-2026-93763Network attack vectorHinoki check available

Plaintext persistence via unresolved callable database name

Published Sep 18, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026

Cleartext storage in Mongoid 9.0.0 through 9.0.11 and 9.1.0 allows remote authenticated users to read fields intended for encryption. When the configured database name is a callable, encryption schema-map generation leaves it unresolved and silently omits the intended field rules. Exposure requires client-side field-level encryption with a callable database name and ordinary database read access; affected values remain readable in plaintext.
