Arbitrary file write via uncontained temporary file paths
Published Oct 12, 2026 · Updated Oct 12, 2026
Path traversal in Progress ShareFile Storage Zones Controller 5.12.6 and earlier allows attackers to write files via remote identifiers. FileCopyService incorporates a remote file identifier into a local temporary path without enforcing directory containment. Exploitation requires control of returned file metadata and content; writes are limited by service-account permissions, and code execution requires a writable executable IIS-served directory.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
