Information disclosure via bypassed broadcast filters
Published Sep 18, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Improper access control in xdg-dbus-proxy 0.1.6 and 0.1.7 allows local users to read restricted D-Bus broadcast signals. The incoming-broadcast path accepts any signal from a sender with TALK policy and skips configured object-path, interface, and member matching. Exploitation requires a malicious or compromised sandboxed application to run locally; it can monitor session-bus or AT-SPI signals beyond its grants.
