Malicious downloads via unnormalized redirect URL validation
Published Oct 15, 2026 · Updated Oct 15, 2026
Open redirect in Eclipse Temurin's download website allows remote attackers to deliver attacker-chosen binaries via crafted links. The Adoptium post-download page checks the raw link parameter with String.startsWith() before placing it in a meta refresh, allowing browser dot-segment normalization to escape the trusted repository path. Exploitation requires a victim to follow a crafted website link; downloading the substituted binary does not itself establish code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
