Revoked credential acceptance via incomplete distributionPoint matching
Published Sep 18, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Certificate revocation bypass in Rustls rustls-webpki before 0.103.10 and before 0.104.0-alpha.5 allows attackers to reuse revoked credentials. The authority-matching logic compares only the certificate's first distributionPoint with each CRL's IssuingDistributionPoint and ignores later entries, so the applicable CRL is not consulted. Exploitation requires control of a trusted issuing authority; UnknownStatusPolicy::Allow accepts the revoked certificate, while the default deny policy returns a safe error.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=0.102.0-alpha.0 <0.103.10
- Affected versionversion=0.104.0-alpha.1 <0.104.0-alpha.5
