Service interruption via unchecked UHDR pixel allocation
Published Sep 18, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Uncontrolled resource consumption in ImageMagick before 7.1.2-31 allows remote attackers to interrupt service via crafted UHDR images. The UHDR encoder allocates a buffer for every image pixel without applying the configured resource-policy check. Exploitation requires attacker-controlled input to reach UHDR encoding and can exhaust process memory, disrupting image-processing availability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
