Authenticated command execution via formHwSet parameters
Published May 24, 2026 · Updated May 24, 2026
Command injection in Edimax EW-7438RPn 1.28a allows remote authenticated users to execute commands through a crafted POST request. The formHwSet handler at /goform/formHwSet fails to neutralize command syntax in multiple hardware and wireless configuration parameters before processing them. Low-privileged access to the network management interface is required; successful injection executes commands with the handler's device privileges.
