Authorization bypass via omitted OCSP signer EKU check

Published Sep 18, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026

Improper certificate validation in Red Hat build of Apache Camel for Spring Boot 4 allows remote attackers to bypass revocation checks. Netty's OcspClient.validateSignature builds a responder chain but omits the id-kp-OCSPSigning EKU authorization check required for delegated signers. An attacker must be network-positioned and hold another certificate from the same CA; forged GOOD responses then make revoked certificates appear valid.
